Caragiale spunea despre luna lui decembrie (Undrea): Gerul îngheaţă becurile felinarelor pe uliţe. Primăria hotăreşte a aşeza la fiecare răspânte câte o sobă de tuci. Un amic al guvernului va fi însărcinat, fără leafă, numai cu diurnă, să meargă la Paris spre a cumpăra sobele, cari vara vor putea servi şi la altceva.
